Carelene and Stefanie are the absolute perfect duo. Their passion and knowledge comes together beautifully. A life changing course that breathed new love and knowledge into me. I would recommend this course a 1000 times over. Bonus, the amazing group of people I got to meet and share this with.

Since starting yoga, I’ve been dreaming about doing a yoga teacher training for years, imagining myself in Bali or India—but never in South Africa. So, when the opportunity arose to do a 200-hour training close to home, I couldn’t say no. Little did I know just how life-changing those 10 days would be.

We spent our mornings meditating and practicing yoga, while our afternoons were dedicated to diving into yoga philosophy, anatomy, and asana clinics.

Each day, we woke up to the sunrise and the sound of birds chirping, and ended it with the sunset and frogs croaking. We explored crystal-clear river pools, hiked to breathtaking waterfalls and shared heartwarming cacao ceremonies.

The people on this trip were some of the most genuine, down-to-earth, hilarious and inspiring humans I’ve ever encountered. Together, we laughed, cried, learned, and formed bonds that made them feel like family.

Stef and Carly, our teachers, were not only incredibly knowledgeable and patient but also truly empowering teachers. They created a beautiful, welcoming space that made these the best 10 days of my 2024.

📄 Introduction

📄 Introduction

Join us for a 200-Hour Integrative Yoga Teacher Training — where science meets soul in the beautiful Cape Winelands.

This is more than a teacher training — it’s an embodied journey into the art and science of yoga, grounded in the understanding that transformation begins with safety, curiosity, and connection.

Over the course of our time together, you’ll explore the body’s living systems — nervous, immune, endocrine, lymphatic, muscular, and respiratory — and discover how they shape our physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. We’ll work hands-on with fascia, muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments, learning how to move in ways that prevent injury and support lifelong practice.

From this embodied foundation, we’ll journey into the subtle body — energy centres, intuition, intention, meditation, and the history and philosophy of yoga. We’ll also situate our practice in the South African context, exploring how yoga can be a tool for resilience, healing, and community connection in a complex world.

You will learn to:

✨ Design safe sequences. Teach with soul. Build resilience.

✨ Apply nervous system science and trauma-aware principles to your teaching.

✨ Create spaces that welcome diverse bodies, stories, and lived experiences.

✨ Guide with clarity, care, and confidence.

Our hybrid format blends self-paced online study with a 10 day in-person immersive in November, giving you time to integrate knowledge into your own practice before stepping into the teaching seat.

This journey will deepen your relationship with yoga, enrich your personal practice, and equip you with the skills to guide others with integrity, creativity, and heart. Whether or not you choose to teach, you will leave more grounded, more resourced, and more connected to yourself and the world around you

Carelene De Jager- Lotz

A forever student, with a deep passion for teaching, nurturing, studying the human body, and creating connections with other beautiful humans.

A 950-hour accredited yoga teacher, who will always feel like I need to know more. With 10 years of teaching experience, I've dedicated myself to the practice of yoga in the breathtaking landscapes of the Cape Winelands. I envision myself doing exactly this for another 40years. My journey in yoga has been a profound exploration of the human body and the transformative power of physical movement and a mind-body connection on overall health and well-being.

I like to define yoga as movement meditation and a means to discover how to move through space with strength and ease.

I embrace the philosophy of yoga as a method to improve circulation through the subtle channels of the body. When harmony is created in the body then energy can flow.

I teach yoga asana in a way that encourages you to feel where the body is ready to go and to never force anything on the mat.

Yoga, to me, is more than just exercise; it's a form of medicine. It should be a sanctuary where you create an intimate, healing dialogue with your body. My purpose as a yoga teacher is to simply be a guide on someone else’s journey of self-discovery.

For me, yoga is a journey through the body — a return home to yourself.

With over 500 hours of training, a decade of teaching, and over 40 years of life to draw from ;) I’m passionate about sharing yoga as both a science and an art of living. Yoga has guided me from a busy head space into a softer heart space, and ultimately into presence — where body, mind, and spirit meet.

My own path has wandered through Nature Conservation, Religious Studies, Fine Art, and Yoga — from Vinyasa to Pre/Postnatal, Kids Yoga, and eventually into Mindfulness and Meditation. It was here that I finally learned to sit inside my own body, to listen deeply, and to trust the quiet magic within.

Since then, I’ve witnessed extraordinary shifts in others too. Teaching on Pre/Postnatal and Kids Yoga Training programmes, sparked my curiosity about the Endocrine and Nervous Systems, and about the essential role of play in our journey toward wholeness. The deeper I dive into the systems of the body, the more awe I feel at the miracle of being alive — and the more inspired I am to guide others into that same sense of wonder, resilience, and connection.
